2006
Who would have thought I'd be 26, a mom twice over, and about to embark on a roller coaster adventure ride? Since I left TCU in 2001, I feel like I've been wandering around sort of aimlessly, drifting from job to job. I've never felt like I belonged anywhere I've worked. Of course, I had the most fun when I was a bartender because I like to talk to people. There aren't a whole lot of jobs out there where you get paid to make people drinks, and hear their life stories.
But it's time to get serious. It's time to find that career. If not for my own sake, then for my children. I have to be the adult. I am the MOM, and I can't act like the kid anymore. It's time. January 10th, I start on that journey. I start Nursing School. Sounds daunting. And it is, because it's going to be hard and expensive. But, hopefully, worth it too.
I wanted to stay home with Zoe for a year like I did with Daniel. But I am not going to continue living paycheck to paycheck, and barely making it sometimes at that. It's time to get real. After all, we've got others depending on us now, we can't be selfish anymore.
